LINUX Sendmail aliases file

My Friends: Our previously stable HP-UX server's DNS and SMTP services were transferred to a linux box running Linux Sendmail - I believe the version to be 8.11.6. Under HP-UX, as you know, a comma with no space is the delimiter in the etc/aliases file to have an alias expand to 2 or more users. Is the delimeter different under Linux?

Re: LINUX Sendmail aliases file

Hi,
The delimiter is the same, it's a sendmail feature ans not a OS one.
Software configuration is mostly define in /etc/mail and not in /etc/mail (check /etc/mail/aliases if it exists).

Re: LINUX Sendmail aliases file

I am not sure what delimeter you are refering to, but here's what my format looks like for /etc/aliases file:
: email1,email2,email(n-1).
I hope this helps.
