make_recovery failure
I just upgraded from Hp-UX 11.0 to 11.11 and I can not
process a make recovery tape.
This is the message I get in the /var/opt/ignite/logs/makrec.log1
Cannot create SYSCMDS ; no space on the LIF volume
make_medialif: error - lifcp SYSCMDS failed, probable insufficient size for /var/tmp/uxinstlf.recovery
How do I fix this?

Only two things wrong with women, everything they say and everything they do.

Re: make_recovery failure
Hi,
according to this: http://www.software.hp.com/RELEASES-MEDIA/notices/5990-3569.htm
HP has created patches PHSS_27407 for HP-UX 11.0 and PHSS_27406 for HP-UX 11i to resolve this issue
I never had that problem myself but I think those patch would fix it unless they are already installed !
Thanks,
JP

Re: make_recovery failure
Hi
try command make_tape_recovery ,as this is better cmd than make_recovery ,hp recommends using make_tape_recovery cmd
apply GOLD patch for 11i december 2002
