Re: movie player

In 'Linux 8.0' I suppose you mean RedHat 8.0. Xine and XMMS are players I've used with RedHat. However with both programs I've had some problems and novadays use mplayer by command line. There's GUI for it also, but at least in my box it's unstable and not worth mentioning. I'm not sure what file format is 'dat,' (raw audio samples?) but mplayer supports loads of formats. Re: movie player

realplayer does have a Linux version.

I don't use .0 operating systems, but it worked great with 6.2 and 7.3 Red Hat.

Re: movie player

XMSS does work well as long as you have all of the required "updated" extensions...

Re: movie player

Hi there,

For running movies with extensions like .dat, .mov, .mpeg, and .mpg on your Linux 8.0 system, I highly recommend using VLC Media Player. It's a versatile, open-source player that supports nearly all media formats out-of-the-box, including the ones you've listed. Plus, if you're into streaming content as well, VLC has in-built support for streaming from various sources, making it a perfect choice for both local and online playback. For a more integrated streaming experience, you might also want to check out streaming apps that are optimized for Linux!
