netraid 1si on kernel 2.4.x

Hi all,

My E800 server is running for a long on a Debian 2.2 aka Potato with kernel 2.2.17/19.
All filesystems are on a raid 5 array with a netraid 1si card.

I've decided to upgrade to Woody; done.
But what about the kernel 2.4 ? I saw a lot of problem reports with the netraid 3si card, but nothing about the 1si one !

Could someone give me feedback s ?

Thanks
Nicolas

Re: netraid 1si on kernel 2.4.x

I've not seen any problems with the 2.4 series of kernel with the 'megaraid' driver (which the 3si and 1si share).

There were many problems on earlier revisions of the kernel, and the 'megamgr' tool (which you can get from lsilogic) won't work on anythign prior to a megaraid driver prior to 1.15 (or some such) which wasn't in the kernel until high 2.2's, and 2.4's.

I've not had any issues.
