NFS UID limit 65535
Is the upper limit for UIDs in NFS? Is it 65535?
A friend it trying to get home directories automounted. His personal
NIS account is in the 100000s. The id and whoami commands show his
account, but the home directory and all files are owned by "nobody".
The kernel versuon is RedHat 2.4.21-15.ELsmp ?

Re: NFS UID limit 65535
In all things there are limits. I'm not sure what the hp-ux limit is.
Can your system run the Red Hat 2.6.x kernel. That might alleviate the issue.

Re: NFS UID limit 65535
Hi,
As per I know the older version of kernel before 2.4 has 16 bit for UID i.e, 65535
but from 2.4 onwards its 32 bit ... So I guess this version of kernel should work ..
but its not working :(-
