why I'm getting this error message:

May 30 19:22:15 exportfs[599]: /etc/exports [5]: No 'sync' or 'async' option specified for export ":ÿ". Assuming default behaviour ('sync'). NOTE: this default has changed from previous versions
May 30 19:22:15 nfsd[600]: nfssvc: Function not implemented

on my nfs server ?


my exports file:

# cat /opt/etc/exports
/volume1/movie 192.168.200.0/255.255.255.0(rw,sync,no_root_squash)

Please post the output of:

showmount -e
cat -e /opt/etc/exports

Are you sure is that the real export file? Normally is /etc/exports, unless is a symlink.

What I mean is that complais about line 5 of file /etc/exports:

/etc/exports [5]:

And, you are posting another file and does not contains five entries.

yep, on my linux box DS106j from synology

/opt/etc/exports

is correct.

I have deleted exports file, created again and now it seems to work.

You had extra, possibly invisible characters in /etc/exports
