Re: omnibckII under linux os

Hi,

linux client for omniback is included with the main omniback license (HP-UX or WindowsNT)
From the cell mangager you can distribute the linux client software.
I have an HP-UX cell manager and had no problems to install on linux box from it.

Re: omnibckII under linux os

Dear,

First of all, HP has released a OB Client available as .RPM for Linux (Red Hat 5.2 and above, compatible with Mandrake and Debian also). You can find confirmation of this following this link:
http://www.hp.com/storage/event/openview_hl.html.
A good information source concerning all Linux S/W released by HP is the Linux HP-Howto, that You can read at : http://www.medasys-digital-systems.fr/linux/HP-Howto/HP-HOWTO-EN/hp-software.html.

Somebody has posted a question concerning B/U in a heterogeneous environment. Mister Frank Finner shares his experience with Omniback @ http://web.gnu.walfield.org/mail-archive/linux-tape/2000-July/0108.html.

Hope this gives You an answer.

Yours sincerely,
