OmniBook XE2-linux
Hi
I m using an omnibook xe2 running Mandrake 7.2.
my Xfree86 version 4.0.1 . and i cannot install my display settings . so Xwindows doesnt run . Mandrake is find my card like SMI Lynx EM . but what did i tried , it doesnt run correctly . How can i solve this .

To set-up the X server you need to create a /etc/X11/XFree86-4 file.
You can use dexter or xf86cfg for this !
It's also time for you to read the docs .

Setting up X on a laptop is challenging!
Your problem is addressed here: http://www.linuxia.de/omnibook-xe2.en.html
The issue you are experiencing is that XFree86 4.0 doesn't support your chipset. Use v.3.3.6 and you should be alright.
(I experienced simular problems with another manufacturer's laptop when I tried to set up Linux -- never did get the thing done before I had to return it...)
