Has anyone installed Oracle 9i on Linux RedHat 9?
I am trying to install and I keep getting an error related to creating a link for 'jre' and .java_wrapper. This is at the beginning of the install process. Any help appreciated. Should I have installed some type of java before the install?

Re: ORACLE/LINUX
I have done the install.
There is a requierd java piece that does not come with Red Hat 9 that must be installed prior to the oracle install.
You probably can't get it at redhat.com
Here is a possible source
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html
This does not look like where I got it.
There should be a note in the install manual telling you were to get the proper version of java.

Re: ORACLE/LINUX
According to the Metalink (Oracle support website metalink.oracle.com), the solution to your issue is to add LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 to you environment variable. For more info, please refer to DocID 485757.995 in Metalink.
