Re: ping and ftp problem

Hi,

Please check if firewall is enabled on it..

#iptables -A

if enabled, flush out the firewall..

#iptables -F

For more information see man firewall..

cheers

Re: ping and ftp problem

Please, can you explain a little better, for example:

I'm on server1 and I cannot ping server2. I can ping server2 from another machines but I cannot ping server1.

As stated above, stop the firewall:

service iptables stop

Ensure that your ip address/network mask configuration is correct.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: ping and ftp problem

Can you post a traceroute of the route that won't let the ping through? I'd be willing to bet that your default route isn't set right on the source machine...

Re: ping and ftp problem

hi guys,

the ip to which iam not able to ftp is a backup lan ip and the source server doesnot have the app lan.so a normal routing has resolved the problem..

thanks for all..
