Problems with RH network install on a ML370 G3

I am having problems initiating a RHEL 2.1 kickstart installation. Here's a quick run down. I have a boot floppy with kickstart file used by the target installtion system to mount an nfs share on another box. Everything looks good until the system tries to acquire an ip address. The error message indicates the pump client does not receive a reply from the DHCP server. But plugging any other system into the same cable indicates otherwise.

I have concerns about the gigabit adapter and/or driver. I have tried setting the eth_tool options to no avail. The NIC is a NC7781 and I am using the latest bootnet image(update 4) available from HP's website. Has anyone else run into any problems of this nature?

My suggestion that you need to find out real problem.
My conclude 2 problem as following:
1 , DHCP server problem
You can have a try that assign a static ip.
2 , NIC driver
install nic driver before os
just for fun
