pvextend
The question is if we grow the size of the LUN on the storage system can we use pvextend on the PV to show the increased size.

Re: pvextend
This is a very problematic area of HP-UX.
The only possible, reliable means of making this happen on HP-UX is to reboot the system.
It is possible though after a reboot that the system will still not recognize its new size. With HP storage this is easier. With other vendors it is sometimes impossible to make happen.
The critical part of process of recognizing larger space is pvcreate, which can be a little destructive and should not be used on a physical volume that is already part of a volume group.
With HP-UX, in general, the storage group would present me with new storage at a larger size, which could be recognized after a reboot. Then I had to copy the data across from the old volume to the new, after setting up the logical volume structure and needed file systems.
