Hi everyone,
I have a simple question.

Re: [RH 7.2] Telnet Server Configuration

1) do you have telnet server at alll?

rpm -q telnet-server

if you don't have, please install it from RH CD

2) chkconfig telnet on

in order to activate it

Actually that won't activate it till after a reboot. In addition to the chkconfig on, also do 'service telnet on'.

But don't run telnet facing out into the public net - run ssh instead. Telnet is quite easy to sniff, ssh isn't.

Re: [RH 7.2] Telnet Server Configuration

Anyone know of a good ssh client for windows that isn't a DOS program?

That doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I love the way ssh works between my unix boxes, but can't stand the windows one I have now.

putty is free, and some people like it.

I personally use 'Vandyke Secure CRT'.
