RH4.5 Mix Raid filesystem

Hi,

Can I mix Raid1 and Raid5 when I am installing the OS? for example can I have all filesystem under Raid1 and only one partition with Raid5? if it is possible, How? I know if I can do that on the hardware level, but is it possible to do that in the file system level, how?

Yes you can, of course, you need at least 3 disks.

The operating system will be always in a RAID 1 configuration.

You only need to have 3 software raid type partition to create a RAID 5 configuration.
