RHAS 2.1, SecurePath and MSA1000...
works "mostly" with a few annoyances.
The basic setup is this....
RHAS 2.1 (redhat clustering, kernel 2.4.9-e27)
DL380 x2
FC2214 x4 (2 ea)
qla2300 drivers ver "6.04.00"
Secure Path 3.0A on both nodes
MSA1000 (dual everything, full shelf and
latest firmware)
1. When I boot the second node, the first will
lose quorum and reboot itself. The controllers
thrash back and forth and then things setttle
down and the system runs "normally".
2. I have both machines mounting the same
"disk" from the MSA as say... /temp. When I
create a file in /temp on machine "A", and
check for it on machine "B" it's not there.
I've checked that the device that each machine
is "seeing" is indeed the same device by
looking at the "sppf" file and noting the
WWNN's match as well as the device itself.
This issue persists between reboots of both
machines and although I know it sounds as if
the machines have different devices mounted
I'm 99.8% sure they are in fact the same.
Unless of course I am reading the sppf file
incorrectly.
3. Sometimes, I've not deduced why, a node
will "forget" that a certain disk exists.
This results in my not being able to relocate
a service such as ldap from one node to the
other when I have the cluster manager software
manage the mounting of the disk where the ldap
information is stored.
Hopefully I'm missing something stupid but
I've been working on this for far too long
now and want/need to get these things resolved.
Thanks...

Re: RHAS 2.1, SecurePath and MSA1000...
Issues 1 and 3 still stand though. The quorum disks are raw disks and aren't really mounted and have no filesystems to worry about so I'm sure it is simply related to the MSA1000 <--> SecurePath relationship...

Re: RHAS 2.1, SecurePath and MSA1000...
I installed Linux Redhat Enterprise ES 2.1 on a HP Proliant server and I connected it with a HP Storage SAN Array 1000 by fiber adapter FCA2214 DC PCI-X.
I succeeded to configure and create the volumes in the SAN Array 1000.
Operating system : Linux Redhat Enterprise ES 2.1
Kernel : 2.4.9-e30smp
Libraries : glibc-2.2.4-31.7 and libgcc-3.2.2-5
My problem is:
When I try to install the Secure Path 3.0A for Linux package in my Proliant server, I can't install it.
Then I need some help please. Is it problem with software, kernel or libraries requirements or with anything else?
Thanks
Haydar
