Are you trying to set security on the "Linux" share via windows?
as in umask settings rwx?
If so I would still do this in the smb.conf file not windows?
Maybe I don't understand the entire settings and environment?

Apart from that, I 100% agree with him, Robert. If you try to administrate smb share, do it from Linux !
