SCSI parity error detected

Hello!

I got a lot of "SCSI parity error detected" in my messages yesterday.

I found them just a few minutes befor.

I just tried: "dd if=/dev/sda3 of=/dev/null" and again I got a lot of parity error.

What can I do now ?

Re: SCSI parity error detected

Shalom saavik,

Back up the system and replace the disk.

You might try booting it and running hardware diagnostics.

Re: SCSI parity error detected

Hi Saavik,

Do you have any other disks connected to the same bus ? is there similar issue present.

It can be a SCSI bus error too.Pls check the SCSI cable and the terminator too. try to refix the cable and terminator.

Regards,

Siva.

Re: SCSI parity error detected

Well, here I am , back again.

Unfortunattely it did not help to switch the HDD and the SCSI cable.

There is nothing else connected to the scsi drive but after some days now, the error comes again.

Again: I already changes the hdd and the scsi cable (and the ram) so I think that it can only be the scsi-controller-card
