Session Problems in Turbo Linux
Iam using Turbo linux. Whenever i tried to login as root user, iam getting the below errors.
Beginning of Error:
*******************
Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or that you may be out of disk space. Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem.
*********End***********
Please help me to solve this problem.
Note: Iam able to login as normal users.Only root is not able to login in GUI mode.
Shetty.

Re: Session Problems in Turbo Linux
#su -
to loggin as root !, then have a look around to see if root is set up correctly!
If you can su or can not loggin as root on char console then you should try loggin in single user mode at boot prompt, and try to work it out from there.
on the other hand running GUI as root is a bad idea it is much better to start the tools you want to use from a xterm (with su - )or from the main menu and giving the root pasword when prompted for it
keep use informed, we will try and help

Re: Session Problems in Turbo Linux
It may be like disk space problem, can you check the disk space for temp directory.
OR It may be due to your GUI Session startup script problem.
Action:
1. Can you check the disk space, if any file system running shortage.
2. Update me, in which GUI (KDE/GNOME) session u r getting this error or is it for all X Window session?
Cheers,
Rajesh
