Single user mode

I dont have the root password for a Fedora system. I need to boot into single user mode so I can change the root password. How can I do that?

Re: Single user mode

When you boot the system, you will see the grub prompt, at the boot prompt, press any key to stop autoboot.

Then select the kernel that you want to start.

Press "a"

Type "single"

Press ENTER.

All done, if the "a" command does not works, you need to enter a password for grub with the "p" command, if you don't know the password, you only option is to boot from the installation CD and type "linux rescue".
