Re: Slow SCO ftp

I should think it's sulking bearing in mind recent events in the litigation world.

However, these kinds of thing are often the result of auto negotion of port settings between your network switch and your network card. You probably want ot make sure that the switch and your card are operating full-duplex
Never preceed any demonstration with anything more predictive than "watch this"

Re: Slow SCO ftp

I have the ports set to 100 full, and we are getting no errors on the ports at all..

Re: Slow SCO ftp

by any chance...is the client running on solaris intel ?

Re: Slow SCO ftp

No, Actually they are trying to ftp to a Windows laptop. It does work a little fast to a unix box but not a whole lot better..

Re: Slow SCO ftp

After talking to the vendor who installed the app and the OS they admited that this has been a problem they have seen with SCO 5.x. There recommendation is to switch to a different version of FTP software. Thru some testing we found out that setting the port to 10/half spead things up, but gives us lots of collisions. Thanks to all that have helped with this..

Re: Slow SCO ftp

I'd be verifying both the driver version on the OSR box, and that it IS running in 100/Fdx mode (use '/usr/bin/llistat').

ALso what version of OSR is it, and what patches have you got (customquery listpatches | head -1).

This isn't an uncommon issue in OSR. It's usually either old buggy software (of which there are patches/updates for), or old drivers.

It's on an ML370. What version of the EFS is currently installed?..
