Hey,
I have a HP ProLiant SE316M1 with a Smart Array P410 Raid controler.
I have checked the raid type with "cciss_vol_status /dev/sdb" and the output was:
/dev/sda: (Smart Array P410) RAID 5 Volume 0 status: OK. /dev/sdb: (Smart Array P410) RAID 5 Volume 1 status: OK.
I noticed the type was RAID 5. Now I want to change the RAID to RAID 1. What is the best way to do that?
Ps: Here is the output for "hpacucli ctrl all show detail"
Bus Interface: PCI Slot: 2 Serial Number:Confidential Info ErasedCache Serial Number:Confidential Info ErasedRAID 6 (ADG) Status: Disabled Controller Status: OK Hardware Revision: C Firmware Version: 6.40 Rebuild Priority: Medium Expand Priority: Medium Surface Scan Delay: 15 secs Surface Scan Mode: Idle Queue Depth: Automatic Monitor and Performance Delay: 60 min Elevator Sort: Enabled Degraded Performance Optimization: Disabled Inconsistency Repair Policy: Disabled Wait for Cache Room: Disabled Surface Analysis Inconsistency Notification: Disabled Post Prompt Timeout: 0 secs Cache Board Present: True Cache Status: OK Cache Ratio: 100% Read / 0% Write Drive Write Cache: Disabled Total Cache Size: 256 MB Total Cache Memory Available: 144 MB No-Battery Write Cache: Disabled Battery/Capacitor Count: 0 SATA NCQ Supported: True

Re: Smart Array P410 change the Raid
Hi,
I really don't think there is online option for migrating from RAID 5 to RAID 1 for P410 controller. This feature is available only with new generation controllers.
You need to do it manually. Take a back up from RAID 5. Delete the RAID and then Create a new RAID 1 and bring back all the data.

SolutionHi,
As per the Description, I understand that you would like to change the configuration from RAID 5 to RAID 1.
I would recommend you to afford for a downtime and load into Offline ACU Utility.
Link: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_3c888073127c4c65b7bd8559eb
Once the ACU Utility is loaded, you need to select the Logical drive for which the configuration needs to be changed.
On the Right hand side there will be an option of Migrate RAID.
Please click on it and you will see all the Possible Options available.
Regards.
