Smartarray P410i and DL380G6

Hi all,
we are facing some problems installing Linux on a DL380 G6 server.
During the installation process linux doesn't recognize the smart array controller.
We downloaded the linux driver from HP site but they are packaged in a rpm file supposing you install it on a already running machine.
Is there any procedure to install that driver during boot installation?

Thank You

Regards

Re: Smartarray P410i and DL380G6

Shalom Mauro,

The procedure is to use a version of Linux that recognizing the controller on a G6 server.

For Red Hat 4.7 or higher.
5.2 or higher.

If you reveal your distribution, I can find information. There is a support matrix on HP's website.

Re: Smartarray P410i and DL380G6

Actually I had to install Symantec System Information Manager which install its own operatin system (RedHat).
I was traying with 4.6 version of SSIM. I fond out that there is a new version 4.7 which supports G6 proliant.

Thank You
