speed problem with cirrus logic modem
dear friends ...
i have a cirrus logic 33.600 modem which works fine under windows 98.
as i installed linux ( red hat 6.0 ) , i use com3 and ... ok.
i get to connect to my isp, but the transfer rate is almost 0.
the status remain connected, etc ... but ping and web access are too slow.
if anyone can help me.
p.s. after some 50 seconds, if i am under gnome, it tells me "the ppp daemon has died ..."
thks for attention.

Re: speed problem with cirrus logic modem
There is an option under the dialer in KDE to turn on debugging. It will give you a little bit more information related to what's actually causing the daemon to die.

Are you sure your network settings are Ok?
The possible we did, the unpossible we're doing but for a miracle you have to wait some time.
