Re: Squid Problem
This is a sign of trouble with Domain Name Resolution.
On the aquid box, see if you can ping the entries in /etc/resolv.conf when the error happens.
see if dig or nslookup work.
It could be trouble talking to your outside public Internet DNS server or trouble on that server or at your ISP itself.

Re: Squid Problem
Sahas,
With the intermittent nature of this error, I would almost have to think that it would be a DNS server error, not a squid error.
If they are internal business DNS servers you are hooking up to, then have your network gurus look into the problem fast. If they are Internet servers provided by your ISP, then you can contact them and enquire about it.
It wouldn???t make sense for the software to fade in and out like that. Usually it either works or it doesn???t.

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." Stephen Krebbet, 1793-1855
