Re: Squid Problem

This is a sign of trouble with Domain Name Resolution.

On the aquid box, see if you can ping the entries in /etc/resolv.conf when the error happens.

see if dig or nslookup work.

It could be trouble talking to your outside public Internet DNS server or trouble on that server or at your ISP itself.

Re: Squid Problem

Hi,
Firslty Thaanks for ur fast response.
As far as pinging to the IP is concerned i will check it out & secondly the thing is the Squid Proxy Server lets me connect to the same Address after some time. I dont know how?
Infact i am able to continue my normal browsing through the Squid proxy server but sometimes in middle it acts likes this...

Re: Squid Problem

Sahas,

With the intermittent nature of this error, I would almost have to think that it would be a DNS server error, not a squid error.

If they are internal business DNS servers you are hooking up to, then have your network gurus look into the problem fast. If they are Internet servers provided by your ISP, then you can contact them and enquire about it.

It wouldn???t make sense for the software to fade in and out like that. Usually it either works or it doesn???t.
