squid2 or squid3 ?

hi

I've squid version 2.6.STABLE5 installed on Pentium P4, 2.0 Ghz, 2 GB RAM with Debian Etch stable for 180 users.

has squid3 more performance than squid2 ?

should I change to squid 3 ?

what's your opinion about squid 3 ?

Re: squid2 or squid3 ?

Shalom,

They try and improve performance in later versions.

I'd recommend setting up a test squid box, and migrating your users in groups as a test. If something goes wrong, switch back.

I don't recommend taking other peoples advice on this.

Hi

Alaways the latest stable version has more functionality other than the previous version. better you read the release notes of the versions.

and practically you can deploy it in a test mashine for testing.
