ssh issue

HI

Recently i am facing issue with SSH. I am accessing a server through putty but when i done ssh from other machine , i am able to acess machine but when i type EXIT command its not closing somewhere its hanging.

what might be reason like ? In Putty also iam selecting ssh only.

Maybe this is not related to putty/ssh.

You can have this behavior if you did started from this unix shell some services that are expected to return some exit code.

From the ssh manual:

ssh needs to hang, because it needs to wait:

* until it can be sure that command does not need more input.
* until it can be sure that command does not produce more output.
* until command exits because sshd needs to tell the exit status from command to ssh.

Shalom,

This happens to me when I fire up a X/Motif application from ssh like this:

xclock &

That backgrounds it, but its still talking to the terminal session. So if I try to exit it hangs the session.
