tape drive error

I use RH8 and DDS4 tape drive , I have just replace the same model tape drive , after that , I try to backup data , then it pop the below message , but I can mt off to eject the tape , could suggest do I need to detect the hardware after replace tape drive ? thx

Hi,

there is no need to detect the hardware after replace tape drive.

Sounds like the tape isn't in or the write tab is set to protect.

Could be the thing isn't installed right. Has it ever worked? If yes, see first paragraph.

when the first time boot up , it ask me to choose sth like " 1. modify 2. keep configuration 3. do nothing , I select option 2 , but now even I reboot , it will even ask me to choose again, i want to try option 1 , what can I do ? thx.
