To get Joined My linux system on network!!
Hi,
I had Installed Linux 7.2 system 40 GB/64MB/433Mhz.I have two partition one is of 4Gb and other is of 31 GB.Now after configuring my SMB.conf I am not able to get able to access the system on network it always ask me for the password.I had mentioned everything in smb.conf domain name and other related information.What could be the problem can any one help.
Or what is the best way to configure the linux system on network.

Do you want to share files from your linux box to MS Windows clients?
If so, you should define "security=domain" and join your samba server to W2K domain.
You can use any Samba book/manual or this link http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-sambaint/ for details.

smbpasswd -a to authorized Windows Users on Linux samba shares.
You should have an account for each Linux system on the primary domain controller.
