Trouble Loading Red hat 7 on dl 380

I am trying to load RH7 on a dl380 and i recieve a message that says "no valid hardware found to create filsystem on" During post it recognizes the drives and can see their volume, i ran through the steps to create a logical drive and all. but I still recieve this message. Any ideas? Still very new to linux.

Shalom,

Use the DL380 CD to boot and prepare disk. Then install RedHat. It should work at that point.

If not, try a version of Red Hat that is certified for the server.

do not have the original dl 380 disc. Which versions of red hat are certified for the 380. I cannot find the docs on HP's web?

It will also depend upon which DL380 you're installing on. RH 7 may not have drivers for the RAID 5i adapter (G3), 6i (G4) and whatever RAID adapter the G5's are running.

Here is the link for drivers if you have a DL380 G3: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/family/model/4706.html?submit.y=0&submit.x=0〈=en&cc=us

If you don' have a G3, just type in the model on search field (Dl380 G4 for instance), to find all supported OS's.

Please award points if we have been of assistance.

Re: Trouble Loading Red hat 7 on dl 380

First at all, I suggest you to start with RHEL 4 (or CentOS 4) instead of unsupported RH Linux 7.
Second - I almost sure that RHL 7 doesn't support disk controller and NIC of DL380 G3/G4.
