Has anyone installed this CD Writer with Linux?. I can't find an appropiate driver for it anywhere. I have RedHat 7.2 by the way.

Solution
Hello,
After several attempts, I succeeded with a 2.4.14 kernel with the appropriate patch.
In fact, at that time (3 months ago), the "usb-storage" driver did not support the HP CD-Writer 8200 series. That is the reason I had to apply a patch (not so easy).
Now, I would suggest you upgrade directly to kernel 2.4.17 (the lastest) that contains the right driver for HP CD-Writer 8200 series.
I would also suggest you install the latest user-space USB utilities (usbmgr).
Good luck.
Kodjo
P.S. Just a remark : it worked well with CD-R, but not CD-RW !
