I have to configure the
1, VOIP (using Asterisk, and SIP as a Protocol).
2a, Clustering (IP load balancing for apache)
2b, Clustering (High Availability/failover for file server, but no shared-storage hardware)
using any good/reliable opensource software.
PLease recommend me the best software/solutions, tips/tutorilas and Guide to configure the VOIP, and Clustering.
Regards
Maaz

Re: VOIP, and Clustering solutions
My knowledge of Asterisk is not very strong but, probably, you could check the HW compatibility list and found the most suitable card:

Re: VOIP, and Clustering solutions
It would help to know what you are trying to accomplish.
I have no clue in 1.
2a. Best solution is probably LVS or piranha. If you are careful you can use a round robin DNS to provide load balancing with less hassle.
2b. Serviceguard from HP or Red Hat Cluster Suite. Both are well proven. I'm not a fan of RH quality control but use RHCS all over the place.
