Which device driver??

Hello all.

I am trying to load RedHat ES v4 on a compaq proliant dl370-g3. Of course it's not finding the drives so I'm trying to download them and do a linux dd installation.

I cannot seem to locate the right driver. When the system boots it says it's 5i smart controller. I found some drivers on HP's web site, but they are for RedHat 7.2 or 8.0?? I'm not seeing any for ES or AS versions?

If you could point me to the right location I would greatly appreciate it.

THanks,
Tim

Re: Which device driver??

Tim,

The cciss driver on RHEL4 should be finding the disks.

Here is the website for the drivers:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/

The specific drivers for the controller is here:

Re: Which device driver??

Thanks Craig.

Spent a lot of wasted time on this one... Turns out the real problem was that I had to configure he logical drive in the RAID bios prior to starting the Linux install.

Once that was done, you are correct the cciss drivers were right on the RHEL4 disk.

Thanks,
Tim
