WLAN button and LED on HP NC6000

Does anybody managed to get the WLAN-LED working on an HP notebook?
WLAN does work, using the madwifi drivers for the 2.6.x kernel.

Can HP provide details to make use of the LED? Using trial-and-error I discover the state of the WLAN state.
