Drivers not showing as being updated for processor.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub-forum but this semed to me to be the most appropriate one.
I have a AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual core for a laptop and I have tried to upgrade it to the latest drivers. I checked,using device manager, the version of the drivers and they are an older version and from an older date. I have tried reinstalling them (drivers) and no change in the problem. Are the drivers updated and the device manager is not showing them as being so or are the drivers not working at all?

Any help is appreciated.

and welcome to the forums !

Completely the wrong forum, but I would suggest you delete the old driver and then install the new driver.

Don't forget to have a working backup first!
