HP 7650 17" CRT monitor has fading bluish colors on right side
Hello All, It uses a HP Compaq dc7100 small form factor base. I thought it was just a monitor problem, but I have had the monitor replaced twice under warranty at work and the problem still comes back within 1 week. The monitors seem to be dated around May/June 2005. I am guessing it is a video card (onboard, AGP) problem, or even refresh rate, power cable issue. Any ideas?
Thanks for all replies.

Re: HP 7650 17" CRT monitor has fading bluish colors on right side
Hi Mark
Is there a speaker, transformer, or other eletromagnetic device close to the right side of the monitor? This might be causing the interference. Also, check the monitor cable and make sure the pins are pefectly straight.
Regards

If you had the monitor replaced, yes I would suspect the video card rather than the CRT.

Re: HP 7650 17" CRT monitor has fading bluish colors on right side
The elecromagnetic (speaker, HV cable etc) explanation seems the most plausable to me too.
Why not try swapping PC's temporarily with someone or plug your monitor into a laptop. If the blue tint goes away then you know it's your PC.
