mouse problem

Hi, I have destroyed my mouse connector pins and i have bought a new connector pin(company:SONY). The new pin has 5 wires but my existing COMPAQ (logitech) mouse has 4 wires.I am confused as which color wire to be connected to which color and also what to do with the fifth wire in the new connector pin. Please help me...

Can you help us?

- What PC are you trying to connect to? (Model?)
- Do you have a model number for the old mouse?

If I were in your shoes unless my "old" mouse was very special I would just go out & buy a cheap new mouse - in UK you can buy them (3 button, scroll..) for 3 US Dollars...
