No sound in quickplay

I've recently upgraded to windows vista enterprise & suddenly my quickplay opens movie & video files WITHOUT any sound. I have re-installed the application & upgraded all the recommended drivers fo hp running on vista but the problem persists. Can anyone help me pls? Thanks!
