Validating a Windows 2008 installation on a DL585

Does HP provide a validation tool to check the installation of an O/S is optimum for its hardware?

We have installed a DL585 G7 with windows 2008 R2 enterprise and have been surprised that the applications ported from a DL580 G5 are running slower.

While we have people pouring over the setup trying to work out what is going on - if there is a way to validate that someone hasn't made a blunder by altering a critical setting it would help.

We were not expecting a big increase - but the fact it runs slower is not what we expected.
