Alpha NFS Client
I am trying to connect an Alpha 255 running VMS7.1-1h2 to a PC server running Windows 2003 server and Windows Services for Unix version 3.5
We can Mount the drive but cannot access it (timeout). Sample below
ucx mount dnfs16: /host="chsemlenf0010" /path="/sz-m3020"
ucx show mount /all
%TCPIP$DNFSMOUNT-E-SHOWFAIL, error showing information for _DNFS16:
-SYSTEM-F-TIMEOUT, device timeout
ucx dismount /all
Dismounting DNFS16: gives the timeout error hence the use of /all

Re: Alpha NFS Client
Since VMS V7.1-1 is quite old I assume also an old UCX version, perhaps UCX V4.2-??
If it is not the latest ECO for V4.2, I would check the releasenotes of the latest ECO for any NFS related hints.
regards Kalle

Re: Alpha NFS Client
We have had problems using earlier versions of Windows Services for Unix with VMS also, although I believe vesrion 3.5 worked in at least some cases.
We now use the Omni NVS server on the Windows boxes and have had no problems.

I have one, but it's personal.
