I am having a connection problem connecting to the mainframe via decnet/snarje. I thought maybe someone would have an idea what the error means. Any help would be greatly appreciated

%SNARJE-E-GWYCONREW, workstation connect request rejected by IBM host, sense code %X'0857'
Thanks

You might check with the folks on the IBM side of the link and see if JES2 (or whatever) is available for RJE connections (x0857 suggests it is not).

						Lucie,
I would start with seeing if your people on the IBM side can clarify what happened from their logs. Remember that there is no guarantee that the time on your system corresponds precisely to the time on the IBM host.
Have been there and done that. Worst case, it comes down to running a line trace and seeing precisely what transpired between the two systems.
