DECset Clients for CMS and MMS

We are looking to install CMS on a OpenVMS 8.2 system. I heard that there is DECset Clients for CMS and MMS and I can find the SPD, but I can't find where the software is. I think we need to be running Netbeans IDE and the Distributed Netbeans client for OpenVMS on the desktop along with the IDE server on OpenVMS. Is this correct? Is there another package called DECset Clients for CMS and MMS that we need? Thanks for your help.

Re: DECset Clients for CMS and MMS

It is on the "Layered product" CD and you will need a valid licence for each product. Ask your Hp representative if you do not have the CD.

Labadie, can you post the name of the kit or the ConDist directory or where-ever this Windows client kit is on the distro? (I've not been able to find it listed anywhere in the documentation I've found.) With the kit name or directory such, I can use the part numbers I have from that earlier discussion, and add this to the OpenVMS FAQ.

Re: DECset Clients for CMS and MMS

Labadie probably means the layered product CD that is disk #2 with an OS distribution, not the layered products that are part of the quarterly condist. In other words, the same CD that has the internationalization kit (VMSI18N or similar), the debugger client, etc. I'm not in a place where it's convenient to check that out and provide details at the moment, but that's where I'd look on a VAX or Alpha disto. BTW, I believe, OpenVMS I64 has all this on the one DVD, right?

Re: DECset Clients for CMS and MMS

I know from the LP distros and such and where the DECset stuff is located, it was the details around the DECset Client for Microsoft that has been the source of (my) confusion. If the client is on the standard distro, what is the filename and where is it?

I've not been able to locate the client in the documentation and haven't found the proper incarnation for the Google searches I've tried, and given the frequency of the question, I'm apparently not alone here.

It really looks like it's a separate distro.
