lpha server GS80: QBBO Failed
Hi All,
we have alpha server gs80.2,3 days back qbb0 went down abnormally. we have swapped cpu, memory, main power, aux power and directory module from qbb0 to qbb1. Still we are havinng the same problem as qbb1 also does not come up.qbb1 was not populated earlier that is why we swapped the modules from qbb0 to qbb1. i am attaching the captured log. if any one have idea do update.

Anwar,
I am not sure if you have looked into the installation manual for your GS80,
http://h18002.www1.hp.com/alphaserver/download/gs80_install.pdf
From the log you have attached it looks like its reporting AIR_MOVER_FAILURE, which is to do with your cooling system.
regards
Mobeen

Re: lpha server GS80: QBBO Failed
Hi, a few suggestions;
1.When you power on, do both the system draw fans run? (big fan on the back of the draw)Your attachment suggests perhaps a fan is down, check the connections.
2.Check the SRM 9pin cable that runs around the back of the cab between the two pci draws are connected correctly.
3.If you've split the two system draws, check the GP switch connections are all connected and correct.
4.If you've been in either PCI draw, re-seat the card in riser 0 slot 1. I've seen strange things on power up and had to do this in the past (obviously for me the card seating got disturbed).
As you've swapped things around a bit, you might want to go back to basics by placing just the essential modules into the system draws and build up from there.

Good luck
