You are going to have to expand your question if you want an answer. Are you refering to standalone backup install thread?
@SYS$SYSTEM:AXPVMS$PCSI_INSTALL_MIN.COM
allows you to install a minimal VMS system on a disk without losing what else is on the disk. The disk has to be mounted and allocated to your own process.
This gives you a disk to boot from and backup your system disk.
