Re: NODE Subpkt Translation NOT supported

It may be that the version of DECevent you have does not know what do do with that entry in your log file. For certain AlphaServers you need SEA instead of DECevent. What version of DECevent (most recent is V3.4)? and what model of AlphaServer? What hardware is that error log entry from?

Re: NODE Subpkt Translation NOT supported

Louann,

this message is shown by DECevent, if it cannot decode information from a FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) errlog entry. The FRU table describes the adapters and interfaces in a system and is written to ERRLOG.SYS during system boot.

DECevent (current and last available version is V3.4) only supports the 'older' systems and therefore cannot decode FRU entries from newer system (anything EV6 or higher or ES/DS systems).

You need SEA (System Event Analyzer, previously called CA = Compaq Analyse) to translate errlog entries from more recent systems. SEA is part of the WEBES suite.
