OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

I have been out in the cold since the HP acquisition of Compaq (and formerly DEC). I want to obtain the OpenVMS source listings for Itanium. The web site say go through normal channels to get them. OK. WHat is a normal channel in HP?

I don't want to begin a tidare about my issues trying to purchase HP products but it hasn't been easy nor successful.

Can somebody help me out as to where to go today to get these? I have my Alpha listings subscription since the DEC days. Fortunately, I continue to get billed for them and they have been shipping. Now I need the Itanium listings.

...and email would be appreciated.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

Here's the part number:

BA422AA
OpenVMS I64 Listings DVD Kit and License

This is apparently sold through the Enterprise unit:

1-800-277-8988

And remember, if any of your team are captured or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

I've already paid for a source listings license many moons ago. I don't feel I should pay twice. I called the 800 number but they haven't a clue. Also, it's not clear that this BA422AA is the subscription service.

I get the Alpha listings for a yearly fee of $780. I should think that there is a similar fee for Itanium listings. If I'm going to be asked to pay $2200+ a year, I'm afraid my days in VMS will be history.

Anyone here that actually *has* the Itanium listings? If so, what is the part number (like the QA-MT1A9-L8 for Alpha) for the subscription/update service?

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

Hi Brian,

I do NOT have the listings but the information William posted is the right one:
have a look at page 5 of
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/os/swroll/VIROL.HTML
and Table 2-2 OpenVMS I64 Order Numbers in
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/faq/vmsfaq_001.html

Cheers,

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

OK. 5 points to William Webb for the telephone number. That got me through to somebody who didn't know what I was talking about.

I already had the part number.

I have about 1/2 dozen folks running about at the moment in HP. The last person said I have to have a hardware service contract to get the source listings.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

hey- I went through two 800 numbers to get you *that* one.

And I understand that you owe a certain lady in Nashua some points for this one, hehehe.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

Brian,

this one doesn't seem to be easy ...

There also was a recent discussion of this topic in the DECUServe LATEST_RELEASE_INFORMATION notes file (note 264), which led nowhere...

Note that even the OpenVMS FAQ does NOT list an UPDATE service, only

BA422AA OpenVMS I64 source listings kit and license

Maybe the OpenVMS I64 source listing update service has not been invented yet - there was no need to, right ;-)

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

brian,

from your Forum Profile:

I have assigned points to 0 of 9 responses to my questions.

Maybe you can find some time to do some assigning?

Mind, I do NOT say you necessarily need to give lots of points. It is fully up to _YOU_ to decide how many. If you consider an answer is not deserving any points, you can also assign 0 ( = zero ) points, and then that answer will no longer be counted as unassigned.
Consider, that every poster took at least the trouble of posting for you!

To easily find your streams with unassigned points, click your own name somewhere.
This will bring up your profile.
Near the bottom of that page, under the caption â My Question(s)â you will find â questions or topics with unassigned points â Clicking that will give all, and only, your questions that still have unassigned postings.

Thanks on behalf of your Forum colleagues.

PS. â nothing personal in this. I try to post it to everyone with this kind of assignment ratio in this forum. If you have received a posting like this before â please do not take offence â none is intended!

Proost.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

There is DVD labeled as "HP OpenVMS Industry Standard 64 for Integrity Servers Version V8.2 Source Listings", volume label apparently I64VMS82LS1. There seems be some kind of HP style product code 5013-0967 also.

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

The source listings are a separate order for I64 and Alpha.

For I64: BA422AA will get you the V8.2 listings
HA156AC is the subscription service to receive listings updates for I64

For Alpha: QA-MT1AB-E8 is for V8.2
QA-MT1A9-L8 is for the service

Brian, hasn't this problem been solved?

Re: OpenVMS Itanium Source Listings

solved? I think so. I came across the part numbers yesterday, remembered the thread from last week, and thought I'd put all four of them in a place where they could be found by the next guy. Regards, Jeff
