Before stop/restart the queue, Please try to PING and TELNET to the printer,
and please provide this info...
$ MUL conf/print
$ MUL tcpdump/verbose host ip_address

Please try to PING and TELNET to the printer,

$ MUL conf/print
$ MUL tcpdump/verbose host ip_address
if you get connection refused or not able to connect message for the above command, try stop/restart the queue.

Have you tested the above commands, any response from the printer, if not try this command as most of the printer will respond to SNMP.
$ MULT SHOW/SNMP=IP/CONN/STAT
Also consider upgrading your printer firmware.

We have experienced the same thing at times.
Have you checked the Multinet patches to see if there is any updates?
