Satellite booting problem
, I am merely posting as a new thread with some updates
Hello all,
currently I have 2 node cluster DS25 (Alpha workstation containing system disk) and XP 1000 (Satellite node) connected via Ethernet Lan
Now I am adding EV68 (Alpha Workstation)
I was able to run through the cluster_config setup fine (I have attached the file for exact options I have chosen)
one message at end was
********* SHADOWED PAGE/SWAP-DISK WARNING !! ******
**** EDIT THESE PROCEDURES TO INCLUDE LOCAL ****
**** CONFIGURATION COMMANDS NECESSARY FOR ****
**** SHADOWED DISK MOUNTING, PRIOR TO REBOOT ! ****
****************************************************
Please let me know..I am trying to put as much information that can be of use.
Let me know if you need more info
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Satellite booting problem
During the booting of the Satellite node
There are a bunch of TCP Ip erros then
Op com message comes related DTSS
followed by a bunch of tasks and then again the Opcom message come regarding DTSS and then stops there. When I press enter
it starts
Username:
I am able to login successfully however the the screen is still "blue login screen" same as the SRM console screen P000>>>
At this point I am not sure what is the problem.
Any comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Satellite booting problem
The message regarding the page & swap-disk simply indicates that since you specified a disk other than the system disk for the location of the page & swap file, you must make sure that the necessary commands are included in the startup files of SIZZLE so that when SIZZLE boots in the cluster, the disk where the page & swap files are located (SIZZLE$DKA0:) is properly mounted, preferably early in the boot. Include the necessary commands in SYPAGSWPFILES.COM.

Kris (aka Qkcl)

In your previous thread there was some discussion about licenses, and you said you had loaded all of them. Can we make sure that a DW-MOTIF license and VMS base, cluster, and user licenses have all been loaded?
Do this and let us know what you get:
$ SHOW LICENSE *VMS*
$ SHOW LICENSE DW*
Also examine your console boot output to see if there's a message that logins will only be allowed on the system console. This will happen if you don't have all the licenses needed to allow multiple users. (Sorry I can't give the exact message text right now.)
If it looks like all the right licenses are there then the next step is probably to check for messages about SYSGEN parameters being inadequate to start DECwindows.

Can you please look at this link.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=847365
Out of inexpereince I have created 3 links for the same problem.
I have also posted how I have disabled DTSS and what is the current scenario.
Please have a look at the above link.
