						Hello all,
I'm running VMS 7.3-1 and Advanced Server with the latest eco applied. Every time I shutdown the system and boot it back up, the registry seems to be corrupted.
HP's response was to add SET SERVER REGISTRY_SERVER/EXIT to the shutdown scripts. This did work the first time I rebooted, but then the problem has since cropped back up.
Pathworks will not start because the registry server does not respond. My only solution is to wipe everything from sys$registry, re-run reg$config to recreate the registry and re run the advanced server setup to populate the registry.
As you can imagine, I'm becoming very bored with this and work like a fix. If anyone can offer any help, it would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have never seen this. I thought the system make copies from the registry - on my system I see a set of .RSS files that get created once per day. You can do this yourself with the 'CREATE SNAPSHOT' command, but there must be something else wrong on the system. From old DECUS sessions I remember the speaker was very enthusiastic that the OpenVMS registry was more robust than the one from Windows NT.

						Hi
do you need really register?
You can start advanced server as simply pathwork without use register.
