Re: tool for DISK performance

Jiri,

yes, there are at least two disk performance tools that I know and have used:

The DISKBLOCK freeware tool has a TEST command, which you can use to perform various disk IO tests by specifying lots of parameters. V6.1 is the current version, V6.2 will be submitted for the next OpenVMS Freeware CD:

Then there is the DISKPERF tool, which can do about the same kind of tests. The diskperf page currently seems to be down:

Re: tool for DISK performance

Volker,

my system is currently down, because I'm moving it to another room...

I expect to put it online next week.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
You can try a mirror site at

which seem to be up.

And then there is TESTDEV, which can be found o the V4.0 freeware (http://h71000.www7.hp.com/freeware/freeware40/testdev/)

Re: tool for DISK performance

with DFU (freeware-cd) you can analyze your disks en getting a more readeble output.

you can also analyze things as diretory files size and this sort of things.
