VMS/DCPS with HPLJ 4Plus

We have an old HPLJ 4Plus with high-capacity
tray and duplexor. We figured out the DCPS
cmd to select a particular tray, but the
option /PARAM=SIDES=TWO does not enable the
duplexer. Any suggestions? Thanks

Can you put it into duplex by default and then use a /PARAM=SIDES=ONE to print single sided.

Can't do - it's a sharded printer and I'm the only one interested in duplex printing from VMS (duplex works just fine from Windows).

This model of printer is supported with Dcps 2.3 according to

The manual page referenced refers to tray selection (which seems to work for us) but
seems to have nothing about selecting the
duplex option.

Hi ,

Do reply/enable=printer and then try to print. Note if any message appear which can give some clue.

Also, try to use /param=sides=two_sided_duplex.
